Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to introduce Professor Charles Lemckert who will be taking up the position of Chair of Engineering within the Faculty. Charles will be based at the Lismore Campus.
Charles is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia and holds CPEng in Civil, Environment and Leadership. Charles’ research interests are multidisciplinary and strongly related to understanding the dynamics of, and solving problems related to, water environments that encompass limnological systems, marine settings and engineered works. Charles is also a passionate engineering/science educator who relishes developing and implementing new and improved educational approaches to enhance student learning, industry engagement, and professional development.
Charles joins us from the University of Canberra, where he was most recently engaged as the Associate Dean Research – Faculty of Arts and Design; the Head of the Built Environment Research Innovation Group; the Deputy Director and inaugural board member of the International Building Quality Centre; and the Urban Water Lead of the Centre for Applied Water Science. Before that, he was at Griffith University, where he co-led the growth of the engineering programs and research activities in water and coastal engineering/science.
