The Faculty of Science and Engineering at Southern Cross University is currently appointing a cohort of Engineering academics to be part of the growth of a dynamic academic team. We are now seeking a Professor / Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering who will provide innovative undergraduate and postgraduate teaching into the engineering programs and leading research that has real world impact.
Engineering is at the heart of Southern Cross University’s new research impact strategy and SCU is currently building capacity and collaboration across clusters that will focus on delivering secure and sustainable food supply; regenerative and precision agriculture; managing nutrient cycling and recapture; geoengineering on our reefs and mitigating climate change in our waterways and oceans; decarbonisation, blue carbon and carbon sequestration; smart environments, regions and infrastructure so as to engineer improved environmental health outcomes.
Fields of expertise that align with the Faculty’s research clusters include:
- Catchment hydrology and hydraulics
- Industrial polymer chemistry, especially plastics
- Infrastructure and/or construction management
- Environmental geotechnics
- Field robotics
- Small scale renewable energy
