An appointment has now been made with the following announcement released by Deakin University.
It gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Professor Helen Partridge as Deakin’s Pro Vice-Chancellor Teaching and Learning. Helen is Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) at the University of Southern Queensland and is responsible for ensuring a culture of excellence and innovation in learning and teaching, providing strategic direction and leadership to the Office for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching, the University’s Library Services and Open Access College, in all about 160 staff. Prior to joining USQ, Professor Partridge was at Queensland University of Technology, co-ordinating the University’s library and information science education programs.
Professor Partridge has published widely in the area of teaching and learning and has received a number of teaching awards and a Teaching Fellowship in 2008 from the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (predecessor to the Office for Learning and Teaching). She is an active member of the Australian and international library and information profession, has served on the board of directors of the Australian Library and Information Association and is a Fellow of the Association. Professor Partridge’s research explores the interplay between information, learning and technology. She has been a visiting research Fellow at the University of Oxford (2011) and Harvard University (2014).
Helen commences at Deakin on 30 March and will be based at Burwood.
