An appointment has now been made with the following announcement released by the Board of Directors.
Jo Asquith joins Catalyst Education with over twenty years’ experience within Australian school and tertiary education, encompassing a variety of roles from, primary school teacher, University lecturer in Physical and Outdoor Education, Indigenous support teacher, fifteen years in international education, and the past three and a half years as Director and Principal of University of Canberra College (UCC); a Joint Venture between the University of Canberra and Navitas.
Jo brings a deep breadth of knowledge, experience and purposeful leadership to her role at Catalyst Education. Her experience preparing domestic and international learners – school leavers and mature-age adults – to realise their education and career ambitions is ideally suited to the mission of Catalyst Education to equip learners for successful careers in the caring industries.
Jo holds a Master of Arts (outdoor education) and a Bachelor of Teaching. From 2010-2015, Jo chaired the Australian Universities International Directors’ Forum. In October 2015 Jo was elected onto the Board of the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA). The peak body for international Education across the school, English language, vocational and higher education sectors in Australia, the IEAA works in close collaboration with industry stakeholders, affiliated peak bodies and all levels of government.
